NEW RELEASES!
Sex Germs, Gimic, Cold Showers, New Shirts.
Hello hardcore punk fans with the best taste in music! It’s been a minute but we’re back with new releases, a repress and a new shirt from our mate Krime. Check it all out right here…
First up we’ve got the vinyl debut LP from SEX GERMS!
Here’s what Bry from Rat Cage has to say about it: It looks like Leicester is deservedly, finally back on the map. Not only is it back on the map, but the current wave of bands there are burning a hole straight through the fucker.
Consisting of time served fast-core stalwarts and local riff-sick rascals, Sex Germs are the new breed of British hardcore punk, that refuse to be tamed by genre convention.
‘Whiplash’ is chocked full of finely crafted smackers that flit between raging Scandi-core rhythms, reminiscent of Swedish tearaways Axe Rash, into early LA Dangerhouse style punk parts, ala The Bags or Alleycats, before finishing you off by rolling into some fucked up, dirgy breakdown, that Pissed Jeans would wish they’d have written.
The guitar work is at times angular, and when woven into the tightly chopped drumming, it almost feels like an ultra tanked up, hardcore take on Wire’s Pink Flag. Sound insane? It most certainly is. And the outrageously brilliant artwork by Cuero Negro is the LSD laced cherry on top. Whatever Sex Germs are smoking must be high grade, and I want some
Preorders are up in the store for records and shirt bundles. Just hit this bottom.
Gimic Repress!
Second press of GIMIC’S second e.p ‘We Are Making A New World’ will be with us mid June so we’ve put them up for preorder along with the record art printed on shirts for the first time. This time the record is pressed on transparent yellow wax and briiiiight pink sleeve print to boot. Only 250 copies pressed this time so don’t sleep on it.
COLD SHOWERS
It’s about bloody time. Vinyl debut from Ocean City regulars COLD SHOWERS.
I’ve seen Cold Showers play numerous times in Plymouth and always wondered when there would be an actual release of their music, so it comes as no surprise for them to find a home on Crew Cuts for its debut. There’s a heavy Dischord influence to these five tracks, as intricate, sharp guitar work is underpinned by a dynamic rhythm section driving, whilst shouted, but intelligible, lyrics top things off, all recalling Rites of Spring. The vocals do have similarities to those of Guy Picciotto, more in the inflection and delivery, and they work extremely well on record as they do live. One of the best singles I’ve heard this year. - Rich Cocksedge
Pressed on toxic yellow wax and housed in paper sleeves with a front cover painted by veteran UK tattooer Adrian Willard. Preorders are live and will be shipping mid June.
